After more than 50 years, it’s not easy to put into words what the Phoenix 10K means to me.
What started in 1976 as a small run along the Arizona Canal has grown into one of Arizona’s most enduring running tradition, welcoming generations of runners, families, and our broader community to the streets of Phoenix year after year. This event has always been about more than just running. It’s about connection, pride, and a shared commitment to living healthy, active lives.
Today, I’m excited to share an important next step in that journey.
I’ve entrusted the future of the Phoenix 10K to Life Time.
This decision comes with immense pride and a great deal of optimism. Life Time is the nation’s preeminent athletic events owner and operator, with a deep commitment to delivering exceptional experiences grounded in community, quality, and innovation. Simply put, there is no better steward to carry this race forward.
What matters most to me is that the heart of the Phoenix 10K remains unchanged.
The traditions we’ve built together, the spirit of the running community, and the values this race was founded on will continue to guide its future. I’m honored to remain involved as founder and ambassador, continuing to champion everything that has made this event so special for more than five decades.
As we look ahead to the 51st running of the Phoenix 10K, I couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come. Together with Life Time, this race is positioned to grow, evolve, and inspire future generations in new and meaningful ways.
